About Juan

My journey as a writer began as an escape from the mundane. While I cherish time with my family, I found myself constantly creating new stories. This led me to capture those narratives in writing, offering a glimpse into the worlds I imagine. The worlds that keep me awake at night. The worlds that I hope my reader's find as entertaining and maybe they will be kept awake as well!

One thing to know about me is that as much as I love to write, I can not ever see myself writing a novel. My attention span could not handle it.

Inspiration and Influences

My childhood was marked by solitude, leading me to find solace in imaginary friends and fantastical worlds. A pivotal moment came when I began to lose my ability to memorize lines as an actor. This shift prompted me to reassess my career and dedicate myself to writing.

I was an actor for much of my adult life, stepping out of my own boring world and walking upon a stage or on a set took me away from the mundane. For someone who has never been an actor, I can tell you that disappearing from the world-- no problems, no sadness, no me. It was peaceful.

After finding little to no success as a twenty-something in Southern California attempting to begin an acting career. I made the best decision, for me, that I could. I joined the Army.

I spent a lot of time training, and it also gave me time to tear through a ton of books. And, much like acting, I found the escape that I sought.

I believe it's that feeling that lead me to writing after I ended my acting career.

Connecting with Readers

My aim is for readers to discover reflections of themselves within my work. I write about ordinary individuals—people you might encounter anywhere. I believe readers should feel comfortable reaching out with feedback or questions, fostering an open dialogue about my stories and writing choices.
