Very often, I find myself looking at the world or reading news. It all seems random and sad. So, I ask, why? What is it all about? We see children too hurt to want to be alive, major company CEO's living in luxury while their employees barely scrape by, or people that just randomly hurt others. So, why?
It seems that the disconnect stems from the ever popular idea that our ideas, no matter what, are always right. No person should have authority over you. We all are special.
Ok, here's the reality of that: we all have a bad idea now and again! We have to accept that. We must learn from others to become better, we must learn to be a bit humble to our own betterment, and we should at least listen before we speak.
Employers, should you want to earn a living, will have authority over you. In school, teachers and other staff are in positions of authority, they are there to better you and make sure that you succeed. But if you just choose to complain at every level or take advantage of the rules set by the education system you will find all of life hard and you will have been fooled into the old trap of blaming everyone but yourself for failing.
And, sorry, but not everyone is special. Now, true, we are all special to someone, but not everyone is truly gifted in one way or another. Some people are average. And that is not ever a negative thing.
Take a long look in the mirror, and find out who you really are. Face the facts that are reflected at you! Speak to people that do what you want to do and listen to them, find out if you have what it takes to make it in that industry or are you wasting your time? You can get better at many things, but you have to have a good base knowledge or skill before you start challenging others with the, "I'm so great..." talk.
