Why Do I Write?

I write stories these days... It is what I do to find peace in my head. I was recently asked why I write. Are the stories too difficult on people? Is the harshness in the lives of the characters-- whether they live or die-- are part of my therapy. I would be disingenuous if I only wrote the pretty in life. I have to write and present to any reader (if anyone reads it) my true mindset. The truest expression of self? It is to never be afraid of sharing my thoughts as they come to me. You cannot say, "This is who I am!" If you are only sharing what you think that people want to read... ideas that are palatable to the public... holding back for popularity.

No, I will write for my mental health as long as I have ideas to share. I will be true to myself, if you can appreciate it I thank you. But if you can't stomach it, are angered by it, scared by it, and any other thing that you can think of... Maybe it is truly not written for you, and I understand.

Life is not always easy...
